This is Dave’s sixth appearance as a pilot on the team. He has been with the team for eight years and competes in scale aerobatic competitions at the Unlimited level. Dave has flown Radio Controlled airplanes for over nine years and takes pride in meticulously maintaining his aircraft on top condition.  When one of Dave's models needs an upgrade or repair, he will not sleep until it's finished.  Dave has an FAA private pilot’s license and enjoys flying to the Oregon Coast when he’s not flying models.   He works for F & C Incorporated a custom cabinet shop in Forest Grove.

Darin Miller

Pilot

Darin first flew as a pilot for the team in 1999 and has been flying model airplanes for 14 years with heavy competition focus from 1999-2004.   With 14 first place finishes, he has won two NW Regional Championships, and is the only Oregon RC pilot to have won the Pacific Coast Freestyle Championship two years in a row.  He also holds an FAA Private Pilot's License having logged 360 hours of flight time.  During the fall and winter, Darin enjoys other hobbies such as HAM radio, and working on his extreme Christmas light display.  He works for Intel Corporation.

Dave Olsen

Technical Coordinator/spotter

Supporting the team for his 13th year, Dave is our technical coordinator and position spotter. He has been flying model airplanes for over 22 years and also holds a Private Pilot’s License with hundreds of hours in gliders and single engine aircraft.  When not flying, he enjoys HAM radio (N7IBI) and other technical gadgets.  Dave is currently semi-retired after working for several local technology companies including Intel and On Semiconductor.

This is Ron’s fifth appearance with the Oregon Model Aerobatic Team. He has flown model airplanes for about 17 years and has re-entered the competition circuit after a brief layoff and flies at the Intermediate level.  Ron also has many years of aviation experience with real aircraft including a Private Pilot’s License and Certified Airframe and Powerplant technician.   If you want to talk about airplanes, then you will find a willing partner with Ron.  He works for Intel Corporation in Hillsboro.
